This lunch buffet is one of the most spectacular deals on the island. For 950Y (women) or 1100Y (men) you get all-you-can-eat deliciousness in a very classy setting. The restaurant appears to be a favourite among the local female office workers, who manage not to get a bit of pasta sauce on their pinstripe suits. There is an open kitchen so you can watch your pasta and pizza on their journey to your plate.
The salad bar is great, with lettuce, slivered daikon and cucumber, quartered ripe cherry tomatoes, corn, and radish sprouts, and a choice of 3 different and scrumptious salad dressings.
There is a daily soup, unsampled by us purely for lack of belly space. Next to the soup sits a meat dish, for us a tender chicken with sauteed onion and fresh Japanese green, served with rice. Pizzas and pastas emerge throughout the lunch period, each different from the next. The pizzas are a beautiful thin crust variety, with fresh herbs and vegetables, and just a touch of cheese to tie together the flavours. The pastas are all angel hair dressed with different sauces. Just during our time these included: smoked salmon and cream, clams with wine, clams in red sauce, scallops in wine, tomato and pork, and baby corn and sausage. Some were nicer than others, but all well balanced and tasty. There is of course also a beverage area with iced/hot coffee, two types of iced tea, juices, and water. Finally, there is a dessert case with several different cakes and an absolutely delectable burnt sugar creme caramel. Everyone is very well behaved, but as quickly as new dishes appear patrons line up to sample them while still hot. Trendy music plays in the background, and apparently the restaurant hosts some events in the evenings for the cool set.
